In the previous academic year, i.e. 2016-17, the university had spent a little over Rs 40 crore on the salaries of its teaching and non-teaching staff.

However, last academic year’s expenditure on maintenance of academic infrastructure is up by over double from the previous academic year which was around Rs 11 crore.
The report also shows other expenditure the university incurred in 2017-18 on the library, equipment for laboratories, creation of capital assets, and seminars/conferences and workshops.
Rs 1.20 crore expenditure was incurred for the library, up by Rs 3 lakh for the previous academic year. Over Rs 4 crore was spent on new equipment for laboratories, which is less than the amount spent in the previous academic year.
Previous year’s expenditure on laboratory equipment was Rs 5 crore.
Further, a little over Rs 39 lakh was utilised for seminars/conferences/workshops for last academic year up by around Rs 30 lakh, as just around Rs 6 lakh had been spent on the same for 2016-17.
Other expenditure on creation of Capital Assets (excluding expenditure on land and building) was around Rs 65 lakh, down by almost half from the previous year, which saw an expenditure of around Rs 1.28 crore for
the same.
